Unpopular opinion: 2016 was a great year. All over social media people are saying how horrible things were but for me, the year was pretty lit. Here is all of the cool things that happened...
I turned 16.
And if you do your math right, you would know that I will be 17 (and hopefully licensed!) in a few weeks. Although I'm getting older, I still have the mental age of a 12 year old boy.
I went to fashion week.
Ya know- casual things that happen to everyone. lol
I went to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
For some reason I always forget that this trip happened despite it bombarding all of my social media accounts.
I went to the city more.
If you live near New York City, you refer to it as "the city". With the help of public transportation, I was always a short train ride away from the Big Apple.
I went to Nashville, Tennessee.
I hate country music and hate the South, but surprisingly had a lot of fun here.
I wore these pants WAY too much.
These are the only remotely cool Jenna Lyons style pants I have (and can afford) so I got my money's worth by wearing them to my birthday party, fashion week TWICE (cringe), and everywhere in-between. New Year's Resolution: buy a new pair of pants.
I went to the beach a lot.
I mean, I always go to the beach, but this year I got to go a lot more. I also went to LBI for the first time (for only 22 hours but I'm really busy, ok?).
I learned how to sail.
THIS is the best part of my year and maybe my life. It is so fun to answer the "What did you do this summer?" unavoidable question with "I learned how to sail". Mom- if you are reading this- I would like a sailboat for my birthday.
I went to fashion week again.
Casual, no big deal.
And thats all folks.
2016 was pretty great, and 2017 has to be even greater. To force myself to do cooler things, if you check back here next year there should be a movie up with everything I did in 2017. Trust me, if i stick to it, it should be cooler than something Jay and Alexis would film.
